Instead, you'll find a friendly policeman at intersections, skillfully directing traffic with hand motions.

It's a sight you won't want to miss!

Later in the evening, your guide will take you on a tour to visit several key sites in Thimphu, including the National Memorial Chorten, the 12th-century Changangkha Temple, and Drubthob Monastery, which houses the Zilukha Nunnery. You'll also explore the School for Arts and Crafts, the National Library, the Traditional Paper Factory, and the Folk Heritage Museum, where you can learn about Bhutanese culture and history.

Along the way, we'll make a stop at Dochula Pass (3,000m) to soak in the awe-inspiring views of the Himalayan peaks and take a leisurely stroll around the chorten. A delightful 40-minute downhill hike through rhododendron forests will invigorate you, providing a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Then, embark on a picturesque two-hour walk through villages and farmland. In the spring, you'll meander through charming villages, pass by lush green rice terraces, and encounter a variety of exotic trees, plants, and birds. During the fall, you'll witness farmers busy harvesting their rice terraces, offering a glimpse into the local agricultural lifestyle. Keep an eye out for eagles soaring below you into the forested valleys—it's a sight that's sure to take your breath away.

Day 3- Punakha sightseeing

In the morning, we'll head to the beautiful Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Temple, built by the Queen Mother of the 5th King with the aim of bringing peace to the world. This stunning temple features intricate spiritual artwork adorning its walls, including paintings of Buddhist teachers and deities. To reach the temple, we'll enjoy a scenic hike of about 30 minutes up the hill.

After our hike, you'll have the opportunity to experience rafting in the crystal-clear river for a small fee. Lunch will be served, and then we'll continue our exploration with visits to Punakha Dzong, Chimi Lhakhang (the temple of fertility), and a chance to stroll across the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan.

Day 4 -Punakha-Trongsa-Bumthang

Embark on a scenic drive from Punakha to Bumthang via Trongsa, a journey lasting about 8 hours. As we traverse over the Pele La pass (3,420m) on the Black Mountain range, we'll pause to admire the breathtaking scenery. Along the way, we'll make a stop at the enchanting Chendebji Chorten, a serene monument erected in the 18th century.

After a satisfying lunch break, we'll explore Trongsa Dzong, the largest dzong in Bhutan, offering sweeping views of the surrounding landscape for miles. Don't miss the chance to visit the Ta Dzong museum, which houses a remarkable collection of historical artifacts belonging to the Royal Family.

After a delicious lunch, continue your exploration with visits to Jakar Dzong and Tamshing Lhakhang. Founded in 1501 by Pemalingpa, Tamshing Lhakhang boasts fascinating and ancient Buddhist wall paintings that offer a glimpse into Bhutan's rich cultural heritage. Take some time to wander through the charming village of Jakar, the main township of Bumthang, soaking in the local atmosphere.

As your day unfolds, delve deeper into the wonders of Bumthang. Discover the Tang Ugyen Choling Palace, a 16th-century marvel transformed into a museum showcasing traditional rural life in Bhutan. Then, journey to the tranquil pool of Mebartsho, known as the "burning lake," for a serene and contemplative experience. You'll spend the night at your lodge in Jakar, Bumthang, surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the region.

After breakfast, we'll drive to the base camp of Taktsang for the hike up to the Taktsang Monastery, famously known as Tiger’s Nest. The trail is broad and takes about 2 hours uphill, but the effort is worth it. As you ascend, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the monastery perched on a sheer cliff face 900 meters above the valley floor. This iconic site holds immense significance for Buddhists, as it's believed that Guru Rimpoche flew here on the back of a tigress in the 8th century to bring the teachings of the Buddhist Dharma to Bhutan. He meditated in a cave for three months, which later became the site for the monastery and is considered the birthplace of Buddhism in Bhutan.

After soaking in the beauty and spirituality of Taktsang, we'll drive back to Paro.
